Various incidents occur at a place which is of great importance, many of these incidents are positive and many of them are on the negative side. Regardless of their nature, incidents carry a lot of value for the organization. To document the nature of the incident and the exact aspects of the incident, a report is drafted, known as the incident report. This report includes all the facts, the figures, the individuals the dialogues that occurred during the incident.

The incident report is made by the individual in charge and can be drafted through information by cameras, individuals that were part of the incident or through eye witnesses as well. This report is an important for an organization since the reputation of the company could depend on it and the company wants to take the necessary action in lieu of the incident.

An incident report needs to be carefully drafted since each and every statement; word and aspect can be extensively scrutinized and can be judged to take a better action. Many times, terminations and promotions occur in an organization just on the basis of the incident report. The person that is in charge of making or drafting an incident report should be completely neutral and not at all bias or judgmental. This would come in way of the quality of the report and question the authenticity of the report. The report is then submitted to the legal entities or the executives of the company that need a summary of the incident.
